February 7, Murray MacAdam, Social Justice and Advocacy consultant for the Diocese of
Toronto, was guest speaker at St. Martin's,Pickering. The congregation is developing its
mission in Social Justice and heard many opportunities to become involved in community
issues that need a strong voice. Thanks to Murray's presentation, parishioners left the
services with a new vision of how they can make a real difference, one step at a time

All Saints' Whitby was devastated by a fire.

All Saints' Whitby was devastated by a fire on Monday, December 14th. The sanctuary has been destroyed though the steeple may be saved. The parish hall and offices are smoke damaged but will be usable in time. Although there is great grief at the destruction of such a beautiful worship space the congregation is strong and committed to rebuilding as they continue their ministry in Whitby.

Please keep the parish and its leadership in your prayers as they celebrate Christmas together in an alternate space - and begin the long journey of recovery and rebuilding.
In the peace of Christ, Bishop Linda Nicholls

A trust fund has been set up at the CIBC branch in Oshawa to receive donations to help All Saints' rebuild. Donations to this account can be made at any CIBC branch. Please send a note to All Saints' confirming your donation. c/o All Saints' Anglican Church 300 Dundas St West, Whitby ON L1N 2M5.
